I am thrilled to share that I have been selected as a participant in this year’s virtual workshop, organized by the Project on Middle East Political Science (POMEPS). Project on Middle East Political Science (POMEPS) is based at the Institute for Middle East Studies at the George Washington University.

On March 21, I will be presenting my ongoing study titled Political Interference in Academia: The Impact of 'Parachuting' on Turkish Universities. This study, which I previously presented at the Middle East Studies Association (MESA) conference last year, explores the consequences of politically motivated appointments in Turkish higher education. Through the concept of ‘parachuting,’ I examine how these appointments impact academic freedom, institutional autonomy, and overall educational quality in Turkey.
