Leadership Lab: Nurturing Youth Participation in 2024 Elections
Democracy Moves, in collaboration with Restless Development through the Voice and Democracy Program, is proud to present the "Democracy Moves Leadership Lab." This virtual session brings together youth policymakers from Africa, Asia, and Latin America to discuss the state of youth participation in elections and democracy in the upcoming 2024 elections.

Title: South & East Africa Director | Accountability Lab
McDonald Lewanika is a politics and development researcher and practitioner with over 20 years of experience working in the democracy, rights, and governance sectors. He currently serves as Chief of Party on an Accountability Lab project, New Narratives for Accountability in Zimbabwe, and also Double as AL Regional Director for Southern Africa.
Lourdes Argueta
Title: Executive Secretary, Juventud Latin America
For over a decade, Lu has distinguished herself in humanitarian work and in the strengthening of democracy in the Latin America and Caribbean region, and as a specialist in international development projects pertaining to social, educational, and political impact. Aside from being the Executive Secretary of the Latin American Youth Network for Democracy (Juventud LAC), she founded the political party NuestroTiempo and also taught history and politics at the Dr. José Matías Delgado University for 7 years.
Jessica Keegan
Title: Senior Adviser, International Republican institute (IRI) Democracy and Elections, Centre for Global Impact.
Jessica Keegan is a seasoned professional with over fifteen years of experience in promoting democracy and governance in transitional and post-conflict regions. Since joining IRI in 2011, she has led civic and voter education initiatives in Egypt and the Middle East, advancing electoral integrity and democratic processes. Currently serving as Senior Advisor for Electoral Integrity, Jessica spearheads the Institute's global efforts in democratic elections, overseeing voter education, impartial election observation, electoral violence mitigation, and inclusive election reform.
